Volunteers
A hello to all!
I'm Frank Gerhardt

The L.& A. Ridge Runners club Volunteer Coordinator. I would like to welcome you all to the volunteer section for our web site. I'm also very glad that you may be considering to volunteering with our club. There are a number of ways that you can do that.
If you are not one that is interested in the outdoors we have a number of ways that we welcome your help.
Selling tickets at events and fundraisers. By helping to set up the clubhouse for special functions or events. Also by helping with programs such as health and safety, risk management, event planning, there are also notices that need to be sent out by regular or e-mail just to name a few.
If you are interested in the outdoors then we could always need help with signage, brushing and the trail patrol program where you are an ambassador for the club as well as snowmobilling. Sometimes bridges need to be repaired or replaced. As well as major work on trails such as rerouting or the opening of a new trail. These require a lot of help.
There is always a need for people to help out in the canteen at club functions cooking hot dogs or hamburgers to raise money for the club.
Last but not least there is the driver-training program where young people learn the trail signs and hand signals so they will become safe snowmobile operators.
We are all unique, in our abilities and have a lot to offer in the way of a volunteer.
There is a great deal of satisfaction that comes with being a volunteer as well as pride in a job well done. You will also get to know a large group of people with the same interests as you. You'll make new friends and may even get to ride in places that you have never been and only dreamed of with friends that you have made.
No matter the age young or old, whether married or single everyone is welcome. It's not all work there's lots of time to play as well.
The biggest reward for volunteering is that you know that you have contributed.
Come out have fun share your talents with us! It doesn't matter if its an hour or two or a day it's the helping that counts.
